Shelley Taylor Designs was born out of an impromptu, spur of the moment decision to visit Jaipur, India about twenty years ago.

Armed with nothing more than a backpack, a couple of thousand dollars and a passion for jewellery Shelley set off on a trip of a lifetime, which would change the course of her career forever.

With no formal training Shelley started making beautiful one off pieces of jewellery for select clients out of her moms spare bedroom.

One of these clients suggested she design an African Inspired range for one of the largest retailers in South Africa. That range quickly turned into ten ranges and now her sister company Roshell Designs employs forty amazing women from disadvantaged communities and is one of the largest suppliers of jewellery to the tourism Industry.

12 years ago Shelley decided to put her name on a range of jewellery and finally make her mark on the fashion industry.

She wanted to use her years of experience and utilise the incredible contacts she had made all over the world to design a range that encompasses everything she loves and admires about jewellery.

At her studio in Somerset, together with her amazingly supportive husband and a team of five talented ladies she designs, creates and hand makes jewellery that is admired around the world

In 2021 we opened the doors to our very first lifestyle store, SHE by Shelley Taylor, in the heart of beautiful Stellenbosch.

It was a dream come true to create a space where we could bring together everything we love. Alongside our Shelley Taylor jewellery, SHE became home to a carefully selected collection of clothing, accessories and beautiful lifestyle pieces.

More than just a store, we wanted SHE to feel warm, welcoming and inspiring. A place where women could visit, browse and discover something special.

We are so excited to share our biggest milestone yet. Shelley Taylor is opening its very first international store in the Netherlands.

What began as a small dream in South Africa has grown into something more special than we could ever have imagined. Opening our doors in the beautiful city of Utrecht marks an exciting new chapter for our brand, and we cannot wait to share the world of Shelley Taylor with a new community.
